My name is Sharon and I’m glad you’re here.
Mama Sharon is a nickname I was given in college as a figure in my community who embodied the role of an available, essential nurturer and safe place, ensuring that those around me were heard, valued, and supported during a pivotal time period away from home. These are just a few characteristics and qualities out of many that I strive to bring to my practice as I work with you.
I am a Black Birthing Doula located in the Greater Seattle area and I look forward to aiding in filling in the crucial gap of birthing disparities and morbidities, especially for black and brown birthing people taking place in the US. As a child, there was always an unexplainable fascination and draw to the beauty of bringing life into this world via labor and delivery and knew one day I would find myself actively involved in such a beautiful transition for a growing family.
I have recently completed my Birthing Doula Workshop with the Sharon Muza Birthing Doula Workshop located in Seattle WA and am working towards obtaining my DONA International Certification.
I had the pleasure of working at a childcare facility for 6 years with children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old. I have also provided postpartum care and babysitting services in various capacities for over 20 families since I was 12 years old. Working with families and children has always brought me joy from such a young age and am thrilled to providing this service to countless others in the future.
As I believe that every individual deserves to have a birthing experience that honors their choices and respects their wishes, my mission is to ensure that you are prepared, well informed of every step along the way, and your voice is uplifted while providing gentle and personalized support throughout your transition into parenthood. From labor preparations to postpartum support, my goal is to help facilitate an empowering labor and delivery experience for all.
